To Shave or Not To Shave

This is a Commonly Asked Question that everyone asks. Regardless if we are going to the Dr for an OBYN appointment, Getting a Bikini Wax, or a Pedicure we worry and are embarrassed about hair.  When it comes to Pedicures there is no need to worry about the popular question of To Shave or Not to Shave it’s Simple… Part of being Pedi-Ready means Not Shaving your legs… That’s right you read this correctly DO NOT SHAVE YOUR LEGS BEFORE YOUR PEDICURE.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Environmental Protection Agency warn against shaving, using hair removal creams, or waxing your legs and feet during the 24 hours before getting a pedicure. “Hair removal can cause cuts or subtle abrasions that you don’t even notice on your feet or legs,” says Dr. Kurtz. These tiny openings in the skin can allow bacteria and fungus to enter.

Sugar N Spice Recommends if your going to shave before a Pedi do it at least 48 hour /2 days prior to your appointment this way the skin (your largest living organism which is quite remarkable), has time to heal and seal those micro cuts- or better yet just shave after your pedicure.
